UNDERSTANDING THE PELVIC FLOOR

Pelvic floor muscles play an important role in sexual function. Strengthening these muscles can reduce pelvic pain during sex and increase the ability of achieving pleasurable sensations. During pregnancy, pelvic floor muscles support the baby and assist in the birthing process. Pregnancy and childbirth can cause the pelvic floor muscles to weaken.
Working out when pregnant can be a little confusing sometimes – I mean, what’s ok and what’s not? Most exercises are safe and even beneficial for you and your baby while expecting. As a health and fitness professional I want to help you move, eat and live better.
